9. Autofocus unit
a) Autofocusing cannot be
obtained.
(Desired point cannot be
focused.)
b) Though autofocusing has
been completed normally,
specimen is not focused
when looked at visually.
c) Autofocusing cannot be
switched START/STOP.
Cause
The X scale cable is disconnected or the
abnormality is detected in the scale.
The Y scale cable is disconnected or the
abnormality is detected in the scale.
The Z scale cable is disconnected or the
abnormality is detected in the scale.
The printer is in error. (out of paper, the
cover is open, etc.)
Specimen has low reflectance (3% or
less).
Specimen is not suitable for AF.
· Irregular specimen surface
· Thin, transparent structure
Objective other than specified is in use.
Dirt or stain on specimen.
Autofocusing position adjustment is
erroneous.
The connection cable may be unplugged. Check that the cable is connected
Remedy
Connect the X-scale cable properly
and press the X-RESET button to
cancel the error.
The counter data displayed after
the error is canceled is not a correct
value. Perform the measurement
again.
If you cannot solve the problem,
contact Olympus for assistance.
Connect the Y-scale cable properly
and press the Y-RESET button to
cancel the error.
The counter data displayed after
the error is canceled is not a correct
value. Perform the measurement
again.
If you cannot solve the problem,
contact Olympus for assistance.

cancel the error.
