The Ne speed sensor detects the wide area of hole (W) in the wheel, and the engine controller calculates
the engine speed and signal phase.

Procedure, measuring location, criteria, and remarks
1. Turn starting switch to OFF position.
2. Disconnect connectors J1 and NE and connect T-adapter to either female
side.
Between ground and J1 (female) (26) or NE
Resistance
(female) (3)
1. Turn starting switch to OFF position.
2. Disconnect connector NE, and connect T-adapter to female side.
3. Turn starting switch to ON position.
Voltage Between NE (female) (3) and ground
If no failure is found by above checks, engine Ne speed sensor may be
defective. (Since this is an internal defect, troubleshooting cannot be
performed.)
If no failure is found by above checks, engine controller is defective.
