Turn the ignition switch "OFF".
Disconnect the CKP sensor 2P (Red) connector.
Connect the Imrie diagnostic tester or peak voltage
adaptor probes to the CKP sensor side connector
terminals.
In the same manner as at the ECM connector, mea-
sure the peak voltage and compare it to the voltage
measured at the ECM connector.
• If the peak voltage measured at the ECM is
abnormal and the one measured at the CKP sen-
sor is normal, the wire harness has an open or
short circuit, or loose connection.
• If both peak voltages are abnormal, check each
item in the troubleshooting chart (page 20-4).
For CKP sensor replacement (page 13-8).
Install the removed parts in the reverse order of
removal.
SIDESTAND SWITCH LINE
Remove the rear fender A (page 3-7).
Turn the ignition switch "OFF".
Disconnect the ECM 33P connector.
Retract the sidestand.
Turn the ignition switch "ON" and measure the volt-
age between the ECM connector of the wire harness
side and ground.
TOOL:
Test probe
CONNECTION: White/Green – Ground
STANDARD: 4.75 – 5.25 V
If the standard voltage measured at the ECM con-
nector is abnormal, check for open circuit in White/
Green wire.
