Apply engine oil to the bearing cavity.
Drive new bearings into the final reduction case with
the marked side facing up until it is fully seated, using
the special tools.

Final gear shaft bearing:

Apply engine oil to lips and outer surface of a new
final gear shaft oil seal.
Install the oil seal with the flat side facing down
(bearing side) so that the depth from the final reduc-
tion case surface is 0.5 – 1.0 mm (0.02 – 0.04 in).
Apply grease to a new final shaft dust seal lip.
Install the dust seal so that the depth from the final
reduction case surface is 3.0 – 3.5 mm (0.12 – 0.14
in).
Install the side collar into the dust seal.
