completed again.

Replacing an Ex BaseUnit

Introduction
The process terminals are part of the Ex BaseUnit of the Ex I/O module. You can replace the Ex
BaseUnit if needed. This requires the I/O module to be removed.
NOTICE
Power bus rails of the potential group and backplane bus are interrupted
When a Ex BaseUnit is replaced, the power rails of the potential group and the backplane bus
are interrupted.
Requirements
• The Ex BaseUnit is mounted, wired and equipped with an I/O module.
• Only replace the Ex BaseUnit when the supply voltage is switched off.
Note
Module in Zone 2
In general, it is not allowed to pull or plug modules in Zone 2.
Before starting work, ensure that no explosive atmosphere is present and that the power supply
is switched off.
Tools required
3 to 3.5 mm screwdriver
