Ex BaseUnit for Ex power module
Definition
The Ex BaseUnit for an Ex power module is a component of an Ex module group with electrical
and mechanical functions.

Isolation of the potential groups to the modules on the left-hand
side

Routing the supply voltage of the Ex power module to the power

Specification of the slot on the mounting rail
•
Mounting and mechanical protection of an Ex power module
•
Mechanical connection with the module on the left (default I/O
or Ex BaseUnit for an Ex I/O module).

Ex power module
Definition
An Ex power module is a component of an Ex module group.
• The Ex power module restricts the voltage to the value permissible for the hazardous area.
• The output current is limited electronically and via a fuse.
