Perform change in runtime: Read section "Actions during operation - Overview (Page 83)".

Simultaneously press the two release buttons

Avoid pulling out an Ex I/O module at a slanted angle.

1. Remove the loose part of the coding element
from the new Ex I/O module at the rear (see fig‐
ure).
2. Note:
Plug the loose part of the coding element onto
the removed I/O module.

Plug the new Ex I/O module (same module type)
into the Ex BaseUnit until it clicks into place.
Note:
Avoid inserting an Ex I/O module at an angle.

Mark the new Ex I/O module (labeling strips and
equipment labeling plate).

Coding element
After replacing the I/O module, ensure that the coding plug of the replaced I/O module is
completed again.
