6.2 Connecting signal and supply cables
Requirements
• Ex BaseUnit
• The shield connection is suitable for cables with max. ∅ 7 mm each.

Grounding
The shield connection of the Ex BaseUnit to the shield support is provided by the functional
grounding.
Tools required
• Stripping tool
• Screwdriver 4.5 mm
Procedure
To connect the cable shield, follow these steps:

1 Press the shield support from above into the holder on the Ex BaseUnit
until it snaps into place.
