5.2 Mounting the Ex module group
Requirement
The Ex BaseUnit for the Ex power module is mounted.
You can find information on this in the section "Mounting the Ex power module (Page 54)".
Note
Module in Zone 2
In general, it is not allowed to pull or plug modules in Zone 2.
Ensure that the power supply is switched off before starting work.
Procedure
To mount the Ex BaseUnit, proceed as follows: (installation always from left to right)
Recommendation:
Mount all Ex BaseUnits one after the other before you start mounting the Ex I/O modules.

Procedure
Hook the Ex BaseUnit (for mounting the modular slots)
into the mounting rail.
Adhere to the maximum configuration length; section
"Maximum mechanical configuration of the Ex module
group (Page 39)".
Swivel the Ex BaseUnit backwards until it snaps into
place on the mounting rail.
Move the Ex BaseUnit to the left until it snaps into place
on the left component (Ex BaseUnit for the Ex power
module or Ex BaseUnit for Ex I/O modules).
