7.3 Error table

Errors marked * are shown as an error message on the display.

Error description
Elevator gets stuck
or makes squeaking
noises when lowered
Lower cooling system
does not cool sample
Motor of initiation needle
turns without stopping
Or
Does not turn one
full revolution
No crystallization* or
Poor ice crystal
formation in upper
cooling system
Possible Cause
Mechanical wear
Blockage from
foreign substances
Mechanical wear
Fan is defective
or obstructed
Peltier element
is defective
Light barrier on motor
disk is defective
Light barrier on motor
disk is misaligned
Motor disk misaligned
or loose
Ambient air too dry
Hole above thermistor
probe dirty or blocked
by water droplets
Cooling pin dirty
Remedy
Lubricate the elevator guide using
silicone spray (
page 96)
Check openings and
remove foreign objects
Clean cooling clamp (
page 84)
Check if fan is operational
and replace if necessary**
Replace lower cooling system **
Replace light barrier **
Adjust light barrier
Adjust/tighten motor disk
Clean cooling pin using a
fiberglass pin (
page 79)
Wait at least 2 minutes after
switching on device before
starting measurement.
If the humidity is very low (for
example, in heated or air conditioned
rooms), open the cover of the
upper cooling system until you
can see ice crystals forming.
Blow out hole using blow-out device
Clean cooling pin using a
fiberglass pin (
page 79).
Remove any droplets from
opening using blow-out device.
