Full Mode

In Full mode, process data is communicated via the Mailbox 2.0 protocol, which
is stored on the process image.
The WAGO SMI Configurator and IEC function blocks that form the interface
between the SMI drives and the IEC variables allow other SMI functions to be
used in addition to the functions available in fieldbus coupler mode.

System Extensions

System extension provides support if there are address conflicts when integrating
additional SMI drives that cannot be resolved by the automatic functions of the
SMI master module.
System extension first resolves the address conflicts and then deletes missing
SMI drives. The existing process image is maintained, so that the existing SMI
drives maintain their position.
The SMI addresses to be added are then sorted in ascending order. The
addresses freed up by the deleted SMI drives are used.
If there is no SMI address conflict, the system extension is not performed
because other functions in the WAGO SMI Configurator and IEC function blocks
are available to the user to reorder SMI drives and to delete missing SMI drives.

Personal injury or property damage possible if power is interrupted when
assigning addresses
If the power supply is interrupted while the SMI master is assigning addresses,
the SMI drive addresses may be transposed.
The behavior of the SMI drives during travel commands is then unpredictable.
This can lead to personal injury and property damage.
In this case, the system must be checked completely and switched off until
recommissioned.

Switching Addresses and Readdressing

The "Switch addresses" function can switch the addresses of 2 SMI drives. Each
SMI drives takes over the address of the other SMI drive, including any existing
comments.
The "Readdress" function is used to assign a previously unused address to a
drive. An existing comment is transferred to the new address.
