Logging

Received and sent SMI telegrams are stored in the persistent memory of the I/O
module together with a relative timestamp.
The timestamp begins with 0 ms after starting the SMI master module and is
maximum 7 weeks. If the value is reached, the timestamp restarts at 0 ms.
Maximum 3000 telegrams can be saved. A telegram consists of 17 bytes for SMI
data and 4 bytes for the timestamp.
If the memory is full, no further events are logged by default. As an option, the
setting can be configured to overwrite the oldest log entry.
You can access the log files via the WAGO SMI Configurator.

Reading the System Image

The system image includes the configurations and addresses of the SMI drives.
Fixed positions POS1 and POS2 and the comments stored in the I/O module are
saved.
The manufacturer ID, slave ID and drive type are also added to the system image
depending on the SMI address.
The drive configuration and addresses are read from the SMI drive directly and
stored in the system image. If the data cannot be read due to a conflict, an invalid
value is set and the configure reported when reading the system image.

Extended SMI Command Set

Both the SMI Configurator and IEC 61131-3 function block library allow you to
use all functions in accordance with the SMI specification, e.g., move from SMI
drive absolute positions and write and read drive parameters in SMI drives.
