Installing the System
Installing the Components
To Begin the Installation
Perform the following common steps for all installations:
1. Attach one end of the video cable to the Video Out (main display) connector on the rear of
the computer module.
2. Attach the other end of the video cable to the Video IN connector on the rear of the display
module.
3. Attach the female end of the display power cord to the local power connector on the rear of
the display module.
4. Attach the male end of the display power cord to main power.
5. Connect one end of the DC/DC cable to the system power connector at the rear of the
display module.
6. Connect the other end of the DC/DC cable to the system power connector on the rear of the
computer module.
'lb Connect the SDN Cables
For SCC Systems:
1. Attach the upstream (brown) connector to the top SDN connector on the rear of the
computer module.
2. Attach the other end of the SDN cable to a faceplate or directly to the SCC.
For Non-SCC Systems Using HP M1403A Telemetry:
1. Attach the -ream
(grey)
connector to the bottom SDN connector on the rear of the
computer module.
2. Attach the upstream (brown) connector to the top SDN connector on the rear of the HP
M1403A unit.
Note HP M1403A Digital UHF Telemetry System must be connected to a non-bedside
branch. Use branches 25-29. Do not connect to branches 30 or 31, which are
reserved for computer use.
To Install a Single Display System (Options A04, A06, A08)
1. Connect the HP-HIL cables as follows:
a. First cable: Two-dot connector on rear of computer module to one-dot connector on rear
of display module.
b. Second cable: two-dot connector on front of display module to one-dot connector on rear
of keyboard.
