Configuring Printers
To Configure an HP DeskJet Printer
The switches used to set the configuration on the HP DeskJet printer (all supported models) are
arranged in two banks of eight. Refer to able 7-4 for direct connection settings and 'lbble 7-5
for spooler connection settings. When using the DeskJet 5OOC, ensure only black cartridge is
installed; color printing is not supported.

To Cotignre an HP LaserJet Printer
Complete the steps below to configure an HP LaserJet IIP, III, or RIP printer.
1. l%.ke the printer off line by pressing the L-Line) KEY.
2. Enter the configuration menu by pressing the fjMENU) key and holding it down until AUTO
CONT=OFF* is displayed.
3. Step through the menu items by pressing the I=) key.
4. Refer to the following tables and select your printer's direct or spooler configuration
settings.

Press Q or Q to alter the item settings. Press
(ENTER RESET MENU]
to store the
new setting. (The * indicates that the setting is saved.)
In all cases where no configuration switch is specified, use the default setting.
Remember to put the printer back on line when you have completed
configuration.
