Preparing Cable for Termination.

If using factory crimped contacts, skip to "Terminating Contacts to Connectors
and Faceplates" below.
1. Slip 9.5 cm (3 3/4 ") shrink tubing 0890-0273 over jacket.
2. Strip jacket 5 cm (2 I'). Be careful not to damage the outer shield.
3. Fold back outer shield and drain wire.
4. Remove filler strips, if present.
5. Strip 3.2 cm (1 l/4 ") from jackets of five coaxial wires.
6. Unravel and twist the five coaxial shields together.
7. Solder a wire lead to the twisted coaxial shields. Use wire from excess cable or any 28 or

AWG wire.
8. Strip 4 mm (l/8 ") from dielectrics of coaxial wires and twist conductor strands tightly. Be
careful not to stretch the dielectric with the stripper.
9. Use 3.2 cm (1 l/4 ") shrink tubing 0890-0874 to cover inner shield so that the inner and
outer shield do not come in contact. Cut away excess inner shield, if necessary.
