Assembling the System
If the test is successful, a list of modules in the group, followed by details of the
potentiostat, will appear as follows:
A list of modules will also appear on the chassis front panel display, and will be
updated to reflect any changes since the last time the button was pressed.
This example shows a potentiostat and FRA in a 4-slot chassis. Slots 3 and 4
are reported as empty even though they may contain modules belonging to a
different group.
NOTE:
You can click either of the

If the modules have been identified correctly in the test messages, the system is
ready to run the installation tests as described in Chapter 3, using the supplied

MANUAL ADDITION OF EQUIPMENT
During the communications check, the system searches for equipment and displays
the details of the installed items.
Section 2.7, Checking the System Communications
If, for any reason the system should fail to identify a chassis or potentiostat, it is
possible to add the equipment manually. However, you should consult your
network administrator and find out if there is a reason why the system has failed to
recognise the equipment automatically.
To add an equipment item:
1. Run the ModuLab XM ECS software and make sure a project is open (as in the
communications check).

Slot 1 will also be reported as empty, even if it contains an FRA, if
the
Test
button associated with the potentiostat is pressed, because
this button does not look for an FRA. However, if the
for the FRA is pressed first, and then the button for the potentiostat,
the FRA will appear because it has already been identified.
