XM POWER BOOSTER MODULE TEST
Some heavy-duty cells need to be driven at high power, and to achieve this, the
potentiostat group requires a booster module (Figure 3-9).
The ModuLab XM 0.1 ohm Cell is used as the test cell in this example, and the
circuit consisting of the counter electrode and working electrode passes through a
2A internal booster. The counter electrode output to the test cell is amplified by
the booster, and the working electrode return signal from the test cell is attenuated
by the booster so that it is within the range of the potentiostat.

To start the tests, proceed as described for the Potentiostat Test, except for the
following:
•
The potentiostat and booster modules are connected to the ModuLab 0.1 ohm
Cell as shown in Figure 3-9. The LO sockets on the potentiostat and booster
have to be connected together to provide a common reference voltage.
•
The experiment name, under the
Test, and the appropriate wiring diagram will be displayed.

field should be changed in the usual way, to a potentiostat group that
includes a 2A booster module. There is only one model of 2A booster, and it
is already included in the
potentiostat group to be sure that everything in the
matches your equipment.
