INSTALLING THE MODULAB XM ECS SYSTEM
The ModuLab XM system consists of a metal chassis mounted in a plastic case,
and is designed as a desktop unit. To install the system, proceed as follows:
1. Choose a location with a firm solid surface, with easy access to the following:
• A PC conforming to the system requirements. To get started, it is
recommended that the Ethernet interface should be a spare socket not
already connected to a network, although a corporate network can be used
if the configuration is correct.
•
An earthed mains power socket in the voltage range defined in the product
specification.
2. Place the ModuLab XM system at your chosen location, making sure that both
the front and rear panels are accessible and there are no obstructions that would
prevent the circulation of air from the cooling fans at the rear.
3. The ModuLab XM is fitted with a power supply that automatically detects the
mains voltage and there is no selector switch, but the correct fuses have to be fitted
to the mains power input connector (Figure 2-1). The fuseholder (1) is on the rear
panel between the mains input socket (2) and switch (3). There are two identical
fuses, one on the live and one on the neutral side of the circuit. Pull out the fuse
holder and check that the fuses are correct, and replace them if necessary.
The fuse ratings for the mains voltages are:
