The ModuLab XM system carries out experiments by dividing them into steps,
where different types of stimulus can be applied and measurements are taken.
During each step, the three control outputs on the potentiostat can be set to ON or
OFF, so that switching of external devices can occur during the transition from
one step to another.
User Guide, for details of how to set up the control outputs from the
ModuLab XM ECS software.

Control outputs are also available from the appropriate pins on the
potentiostat front panel CE multi-sockets, for connection to the
corresponding pins on the CE input sockets of an external booster, so
that the booster can be switched on and off at the beginning and end
of an experiment. This is part of the booster control and is unaffected
by the control outputs in the ModuLab XM software, for switching
external devices on and off between steps.
