Configuring Ports 25 to 37

Ports 25, 29, 33, and 37 support the following transceivers and cables:
40Gbps QSFP+ transceivers

100Gbps QSFP28 transceivers

40Gbps to 10Gbps copper and fiber optic breakout cables

It may be necessary to configure the ports with the PLATFORM
PORTMODE INTERFACE command. Here are the command guidelines:
The ports are set by default for 40Gbps QSFP+ transceivers. You

do not need to perform the command on ports using 40Gbps
transceivers, provided the ports have not previously been used
with 100Gbps transceivers or breakout cables.
You do not need to configure the ports for 100Gbps transceivers

when the transceivers are installed before the switch is powered
on. The switch can detect the transceivers and configure the ports
automatically while initializing its management software. However,
you must perform the command when replacing a 40Gbps or
breakout cable with a 100Gbps transceiver if the switch is powered
on.
Always perform the command after installing a breakout cable.

Note
Reset the switch after performing the command.You must reset the
switch after configuring ports for 100Gbps transceivers or after
replacing 100Gbps transceivers with 40Gbps transceivers or
breakout cables.
To configure the ports, perform the following procedure:
1. Start a local management session. For instructions, refer to "Starting a
Local Management Session" on page 119.
2. Move to the Global Configuration mode by entering the ENABLE and
CONFIGURE TERMINAL commands. Refer to Figure 65 on page 123.
3. Enter the PLATFORM PORTMODE INTERFACE command to
configure the ports. The format of the command is shown here:
platform portmode interface ports 10gx4|40g|100g

The PORTS variable specifies the ports to be configured. The port

variables are PORT1.0.25, PORT1.0.29, PORT1.0.33, and
