Both scanner and printer are 600 dpi.
Gradation
Scanning: The capability of the CIS is 256 gradations. However, the output from
the IPU is two-bit (4 levels).
Printing: The VDB sends the four-level data to the LED print head. However, the
capability of the print head is 32 levels. The machine uses a gamma table to
select 2 of these 32 levels to print the data.
