Registration Motor Timing Adjustment
Registration
Roller
The fusing roller turns a bit faster than the registration
roller, to pull the paper tight. This prevents wrinkling and
skew.
However, the tension can cause image jitter when the
trailing edge of the paper leaves the registration roller.
To prevent this, just before the paper leaves the
registration roller, the speed of the registration roller is
increased slightly.
Slide 198
When the trailing edge of the paper is 50 mm before the registration sensor, the
speed of the registration roller is increased 2%.
The speed does not reach the speed of the fusing rollers.
Jitter: A type of image distortion caused by toner particles being shaken from
their original position on the paper.
