7. Messages
Formatting and initializing user disk.
This message appears while a disk is being formatted.
Framing error during transfer. Data sum = ssssssss.
This error indicates that a received character did not contain a valid stop bit. If this error occurs, try using
a slower baud rate. If this error occurs after performing a high speed download, the communication board
in your PC may not be able to transfer data at 15.2 Kbd. In this case, either disable the high speed
download feature, or try a different communication board in the PC.
FSM/PSM for the device/mode selected is not installed.
The device you selected cannot be programmed in the PSM or FSM that is presently installed. If you select
a device that is not supported by an installed PSM or FSM, the Load, Program, Verify, and Device Check
screens cannot be entered. Install the correct module and try the operation again.
Fuse checksum error. Data sum = ssss. Xmit sum = ssss.
After a download or input from disk operation of a JEDEC file, this error indicates the checksum
calculated for the fusemap data received does not match the fusemap checksum bytes in the file. The data
sum bytes represent the calculated value for the fusemap data bytes. The Xmit sum indicates the
calculated checksum for all of the bytes received.
HiTerm file I/O error.
This message appears if there are any file I/O errors (such as input file not found, corrupted input file, or
input file not readable) when downloading a file from the PC to the programmer using HiTerm in high
speed mode.
HiTerm protocol error.
This message appears when an error occurs during parameter passing between the programmer and
HiTerm. Ensure that the mode shown on the HiTerm help screen is 'Programmer' mode, and that the
interface cable is securely connected between the programmer and the PC. The HiTerm mode is specified
in the configuration file.
Hit PF3 or ? to view device specific message.
The selected device has specific information associated with it.
Hit return to continue, ^Z to abort.
This message appears after a Verify operation has failed. If you want to ignore the warning and proceed
with the verify operation without examining the errors, press E
. If you want to investigate the verify

errors, press C
+ Z, and the Verify screen will reappear.
TRL
Hit return to switch user menu port, ^Z to abort.
This message is displayed whenever you toggle the User Menu Port parameter. To cancel the port switch
operation, press C
+ Z, otherwise press E
to switch the port. The cable between the programmer

and the PC (or terminal) should then be moved to the port specified by the parameter.
