Always ground the ground terminals. Also be sure to carry out the following grounding work.
Improper equipment grounding could result in serious injury or death by an electric shock through contact with
ungrounded electrical equipment.
• Ground terminals (EA): grounding resistance of 10 W or less
• Ground terminals (ED): grounding resistance of 100 W or less
Do not touch circuit boards while the power is on.
Failure to comply could result in serious injury or death.
Tighten all terminal screws to the specified tightening torque.
Loose electrical connections could result in serious injury or death by fire due to overheating of electrical connections.
Do not use an improper voltage source.
Failure to comply could result in serious injury or death by fire.
Verify that the rated voltage of the drive matches the voltage of the incoming power supply before applying power.
Observe proper electrostatic discharge procedures (ESD) when handling the drive.
Failure to comply may result in ESD damage to the drive circuitry.
Use only shielded cable to wire analog input/output signals for the control circuit.
Failure to comply could result in drive malfunction.
Use shielded twisted-pair wires and ground the shield to the ground terminal of the drive.
Be careful not to create a short circuit between the analog output terminals.
Failure to comply could result in drive malfunction.
The length of the input/output cables for the control circuit should be 30 m or less.
Failure to comply could result in drive malfunction.
If the cables are longer than 30 m, measures, such as adding surge arrester or other devices, may need to be taken as
protection against damage caused by lightning induction.
Do not ground to terminals other than the designated grounding terminals.
Failure to comply could cause the drive to malfunction.
To suppress the disturbance voltage of the control power, ground the ED (PE) ground terminal of the controller
separately from the EA (PE) ground terminal.
Do not modify the drive circuitry.
Failure to comply could result in damage to the drive and will void warranty.
Do not attempt to modify or alter the drive.
Yaskawa is not responsible for any modification of the drive made by the user.
Check all the wiring and ensure that all connections are correct after installing the drive and connecting other
devices.
Failure to comply could result in damage to the drive.
Consider voltage tolerance levels and insulation in applications with a high input voltage or particularly long
wiring distances. Contact your Yaskawa representative or the nearest Yaskawa sales office.
The analog output terminals are for monitoring output frequency and current. These terminals are not used for
controls such as feedback control. Be careful not to create a short circuit between analog output terminals.
Failure to comply could result in drive malfunction.
