All fryer models have a drain microswitch in line with the heat contactor and
thermostat. When the drain valve is opened to drain the shortening, this causes drain
switch to open, shutting off electrical power to the heating elements.
Ensure the drain valve and switch are in the closed position, and then remove

power from fryer at the wall outlet.
Check the continuity between terminal 52 on the thermostat and terminal 33 on

the heat contactor. If circuit is open, the drain switch is bad and needs to be
replaced.
