WATER SEPARATOR INSPECTION
Remove the L. engine under cover (page 6-5).
Check the water separator [1] for water accumulation or
sediment. If water or sediment is found, or the warning
buzzer sounds, disassemble and clean the water
separator (page 5-50).
Install the L. engine under cover (page 6-5).
FUEL FILTER (LOW PRESSURE SIDE)
INSPECTION/REPLACEMENT
Gasoline is highly flammable and explosive.
You can be burned or seriously injured when
handling fuel.
• Keep heat, sparks, and flame away.
• Wipe up spills immediately.
• Handle fuel only outdoors.
INSPECTION
Remove the engine cover.
Check the fuel strainer [1] for water accumulation or
sediment.
• If the float [2] is floated, water is present in the fuel
strainer.
If sediment is found, disassemble and clean the fuel
strainer (page 3-7).
If water is present in the fuel strainer, drain the water as
follows.

Connect the primer bulb to the fuel tube A.
Remove the V tube (3.5 x 6.5 x 350 mm) [1] and wire
harness clip [2], then place the tip of the tube into a
suitable container.
Loosen the drain screw [3].
Squeeze the primer bulb to force water out of the V
tube. Stop squeezing the primer bulb when gasoline
starts to flow.
Tighten the drain screw to the specified torque.
TORQUE: 1.5 N·m (0.15 kgf·m, 1.1 lbf·ft)
Check for fuel leaks while squeezing the primer bulb.
Install the V tube (3.5 x 6.5 x 350 mm) and wire harness
clip.
Disconnect the primer bulb from the fuel tube A and
install the engine cover.
