Clean the mating surfaces between the connecting rod
bearing [1] and connecting rod [2] with a degreasing
cleaning agent.
Apply molybdenum disulfide oil to the crankshaft mating
surface of the connecting rod bearing.
Install the connecting rod bearing to the connecting rod
by aligning the tab [3] of the connecting rod bearing with
the groove [4] of the connecting rod.
Install the piston [1] with the arrow mark [2] facing the
timing belt side of the engine. Using a piston ring
compressor (commercially available) [3], position the
piston in the cylinder block, and tap it in using the
wooden handle of a hammer.
• Apply the molybdenum disulfide oil to the piston
rings, piston outer surface and cylinder sleeve inner
surface.
• Insert the piston to BDC to install to the crankshaft.
