7. According to the result of check performed in Step3, adjust the position of the plate [F]. At that time, use the preliminary-scribed lines (1mm intervals) to

know how far the plate was moved from the original position.

- In case the right blank area is wider the other [A], move the plate up. (Moving the plate by 0.5mm will decrease the right blank area by approx. 0.2mm.)

- In case the left blank area is wider than the other [B], move the plate down. (Moving the plate by 0.5mm will decrease the left blank area by approx. 0.1mm.)

9. After the adjustment is completed, attach the stepped screw and the fixing assembly, and then perform Step1 and 2 again to check the difference in the

width of trail edge blank area between left and right sides of the grid chart.

10. If the width of blank area still varies between left and right, go back to Step4 and perform the adjustment again.

Description

In the field, paper misalignment or a paper jam occurred after replacement of the swing guide assembly (4G3-1541).

Cause

When replacing the swing guide assembly [1], it was mounted in a state in which the grounding spring [3] contacting the lateral side of the swing press plate

[2] rode on the plate. This reduced the movable range of the swing guide assembly, causing paper misalignment or a paper jam.
