Description
Since system software was installed to a service part HDD before formatting it with SST in use, this machine locked when the progress bar reached the point
of two-thirds the way after power-on.
Field Remedy
a. Remedy taken in case NSA (NetSpot Accountant) is not used
a-1. Formatting HDD
- While holding the numeric keys '2' and '8' on the control panel at the same time, turn ON the main power switch to start the machine.
- Using the HD format function of SST, format all the partitions of the HDD.
a-2. Downloading software
- Using SST, download the following software: system, Language, and RUI.
This machine will need approx. 10 min when it starts after downloading these pieces of software.
b. Remedy taken in case a card reader is used with NSA (NetSpot Accountant)
As the HDD stores the Ids of all the control cards used for NSA, the data of the cards has to be downloaded from NSA to this machine again after the HDD
is replaced. If the card data is not returned to this machine, NSA does not perform job accounting.
After performing all the steps described in a., go through the steps below.
b-1. In service mode, configure the following setting.
- Service mode > COPIER > Function > INSTALL > Card > enter the earliest number of the cards used for Dept. ID Management function > OK.
(Eg., in case 1000 cards (i.e., cards No. 1 thought No. 1000) are used for the function, input the earliest cart number '1' .)
b-2. Turn the main power switch OFF/ON, and then perform the following Additional Functions modes after the machine starts.
- Additional Functions > System Settings > Dept. ID Management > Page Totals > check if ID 00000001 to ID00001000 are created.
- Additional Functions > System Settings > Network Settings > TCP/IP Settings > IP Address Settings > set "IP Address", "Gateway Address", and "Subnet
Mask."
- Additional Functions > System Manager settings > input "System Manager ID" and "System Password" > turn the main power switch OFF/ON.
Note: If "System Manager ID" and "System Password" are not specified, one of the setup works of the Net Spot Accountant, "Registration of the control card
information to the device", cannot be performed.
b-3. Let the machine into standby state, and transfer the Ids of the control cards used from NSA to this machine.
b-4. When the download of the control cards information is completed, check to see if the ID data is installed completely in this machine side.
- Additional Functions > System Settings > Dept. ID Management > Page Total > check to make sure that the only downloaded Ids are displayed.
b-5. Using any of the control cards registered from NSA, make copies, and then check to make sure that the number of pages is counted in NSA side.

Description
Since J229 connector of the DC Controller PCB had poor contact, this machine failed to recognize Cassette3 and 4.
Field Remedy
Re-fit J229 connector of the DC Controller PCB.

Description
Since no sound came from the speaker, the while connector of the speaker cable was re-connected for solution.
