For dial-out connections on Unix
If you have not already loaded ioland onto your system, do so now (see CD). For more
information on ioland see
superuser prompt you would run the following command in Unix:
ioland –h <server-name> 10006 <device-name>
This will start the ioland process and allow you to specify a device-name in /dev that is linked
to a pseudo tty. This pseudo tty works just like a regular tty with the following exception: you
cannot set physical attributes such as baud rate, parity and flow control as these are handled
by the terminal server. If you plan to use communication software on the Unix host such as
cu or uucp you should refer to your Unix manual for additional help.
