4 Using downstream keyers

A downstream keyer (DSK) enables images such as captions and logos to
be displayed over the main programme output. The TX 410 provides
control of up to two DSKs via pushbuttons located at the bottom right
of the panel, enabling them to be cut or faded to/ from air.
4.1

Taking a DSK to air

Either one, or both, of the DSKs can be cut or faded to air independently
of a PGM transition.
If the <CUT> button is lit, the DSK is already on-air.
If the yellow <FOLLOW> button is flashing, then the DSK is set to follow
the next video or DVE transition (section 4.3).
1
To take a key to air, press the <CUT> button for the required DSK.
The Key is cut to air and the <CUT> button lights, indicating the
DSK is on-air.
2
To fade a key to air, press the <FADE> button for the required DSK.
The Key fades up until it is on-air. The <FADE> button is lit while a
fade is in progress. If it is necessary to complete the fade early,
