How to reset the emergency stop buttons

If the X-ray inspection unit or the conveyors cannot be switched on, an emergency stop button is activated in
most cases. Verify all emergency stop buttons on the keyboard and beside it as well as on the X-ray generat-
or housing (illustrations F 1-14, -16 and -17):
 Press the emergency stop button until it locks. If it does not, it has already been pushed!
 If there are arrow symbols on the emergency stop button, turn it into the indicated direction
until it unlocks. The button must be some millimeters higher now than it was when it was
locked.
 If there are no arrow symbols on the button, withdraw it until it unlocks. The button must be
some millimeters higher now than it was when it was locked. If it snaps back again, you have to withdraw
it more powerfully.
 Subsequently, follow the corresponding instructions for restarting (F 1-33).

The X-ray unit switches off because of a power failure

 In general, the unit can be switched on again without problems after restoring the power supply. Only the
power up cycle will be longer in such case.
Particularities of units equipped with power fail buffer*:
 If the X-ray inspection unit is equipped with the option
power fail buffer, periodical warning signals will be
sounded! The latter will not stop until the X-ray inspec-
tion unit has switched off itself after a buffer time to
be set between 1 and 20 minutes or as soon as the
power supply has been restored.
 If the monitor of ther X-ray inspection unit is also sup-
plied via the power fail buffer*, you receive a corres-
ponding error message. After having deleted this error
message, you can continue to evaluate images until the
buffer time is over. Nevertheless, scannings are not
possible!
 If the power supply is restored within the buffer time,
the unit will be ready to be operated at once.
 If the buffer time has expired, wait about 3 seconds
after restoring the power supply and then switch on the X-ray inspection unit again.

Attention!
If the periods between the sounds be-
come shorter or if the signal becomes a
permanent sound, the unit switches off
immediately because the batteries of
the power fail buffer are exhausted!
Even if you do not use the X-ray inspec-
tion unit, it should always be connected
to the mains to ensure that the buffer
batteries are charged! If this is not pos-
sible, you have to switch off the incor-
porated UPS unit, if accessible (F 1-31 -
"How to switch on"), or you have to have
it switched off by a competent techni-
cian.
