Overview of the Module's Indicators and Test Functions

Status Indicators
The module is provided with two status indicators which indicate the
operational state (prerun, run, and error states) of the module. The status
indicators provide a quick visual check of the operation of the module.
Error Messages
In the event of an electronic, mechanical or hydraulic failure, the module
generates an error message in the user interface. For each message, a short
description of the failure, a list of probable causes of the problem, and a list of
suggested actions to fix the problem are provided (see
page 139).
Test Functions
A series of test functions are available for troubleshooting and operational
verification after exchanging internal components (see
page 161).
Wavelength Verification / Recalibration
Wavelength recalibration is recommended after exchange of lamps and flow
cells, maintenance of flow cells, repair of internal components, and on a
regular basis to ensure correct operation of the module. The module uses the
deuterium alpha and beta emission lines for wavelength calibration (see
"Wavelength Verification and Recalibration"
134
on page 183).
