NOTE Always try to minimize the radiation dose to the
patient.
Move the C-arm to the patient entry position if it is not
already there. Refer to section 5.2.5 "Selecting patient
entry position" on page 17 for differences between the two
positions.
Prepare the patient for the exposure as described in
section 7.2 "Preparing patient" on page 31.
Press the temple support button to open the temple
supports if they are not already open.

Guide the patient towards the unit so that they are facing
the chin support.
To adjust the height of the unit, press either of the height

approximately level with the patient's mouth.
The X-ray unit moves slowly at first, then faster.
Ask the patient to step forward, grasp the patient handles,
stretch and straighten their back and neck, and press their
lips against the chin support. The patient's nose must rest
on top of the support and their mouth must be closed.
The positioning lights for the midsagittal plane, Frankfort
plane and layer position will come on. Note that they will
automatically switch off after two minutes. If the lights go
out before you have positioned the patient, switch them
on by touching the thumb wheel on the underside of the
patient support table or by pressing any of the positioning
