CRU Description
Storage drive configurations can comprise both hard disk drives
(HDDs) or solid state disk drives (SSDs).
Power supplies Hot-serviceable
(PS0-3)
Four fully redundant AC-powered power supplies.
PCIe cards Hot-serviceable
Optional add-in cards that can expand the functionality of the
server.
Fan modules Hot-serviceable
(FM0-7)
Eight fan modules for cooling the server components.
Fan frames Cold
Two fan frames contain four fan modules for cooling the server
components.

Field-Replaceable Units

The following table lists the field-replaceable units (FRUs) in the server and directs you to the
replacement instructions.
FRU Description
CMOD Cold-serviceable or warm-serviceable
Add or replace CPU module assemblies (CMOD0-7) including a
processor and memory.
Processor and Cold-serviceable or warm-serviceable
heatsink
Add or replace the CPU that carries out system instructions
located in CMODs.
Memory Cold-serviceable or warm-serviceable
(DIMMs)
Add or replace RDIMM or LRDIMM memory modules located in
CMODs.
SMOD Cold-serviceable
Add or replace system module assemblies SMOD0 or SMOD1.
