Taking an exposure

NOTE Make sure that you have selected the right patient and

When you are ready to take an exposure touch the Ready
field on the main display. The X-ray unit will move to the
ready position.
On the exposure button and control panel a green
indicator light will come on. Additionally, the word Ready
will be shown on the left side of the control panel display.
The Romexis program will show the Waiting for Ready
message on the computer screen.
The green indicator lights and the word Ready will flash
while the X-ray unit moves to the ready position. They will
stop flashing when the X-ray unit has reached the ready
position. The Romexis program will now show the Waiting
for Exposure Start message on the computer screen.
Ask the patient to stand as still as possible.
If you are taking a 3D face photo at the same time, tell
the patient that the lights on the sides of the sensor will
flash during exposure but he should not be startled
and move. Ask the patient to either keep his eyes shut
or to focus them on a fixed point so that the eyes are
not half open in the image.
Move to a protected area.
Press and hold down the exposure button for the entire
duration of the exposure. The radiation warning lights on
the exposure switch and on the control panel come on
and you hear a radiation warning tone.
The C-arm moves around the patient's head.
If you take several image volumes the patient's left
side is imaged first and the right side last.
If you take an image volume(s) and a 3D face photo
the photo is taken last. You hear a fast ticking sound
when the photo is taken.

during exposure, or moves in an erratic way, release
the exposure button immediately.
