Step 7: Taking a ball phantom exposure

Take a ball phantom exposure to check that the X-ray beam and the patient support table
have been correctly adjusted.
NOTE If the temple supports are in place, remove them before taking a ball phantom
exposure.
On the ProOne main display, select following settings:
- standard panoramic program
- full exposure area (no segmentation)
- average-sized adult (third patient size symbol)
Selecting these settings will automatically change the exposure values to 68 kV and 6 mA.
Manually set the exposure values to 60 kV and 2 mA.

Position the layer light so that the light beam hits the reference line on the ball phantom
support plate.
