6.8 connection braking resistor

In the operating mode AFE, the WRA of the drive converter returns excess energy
from regenerative operation into the supply system.
Braking resistors can optionally be used for protection against mains power failure.
The braking resistors should be designed in consultation with KEB for the
respective application.
In regenerative operation, braking resistors convert the energy
generated by the motor into heat.
Burns and fire risk due to high surface temperatures.
► Pay attention to adequate protection against fire and accidental
contact.
► In the case of a defective braking transistor, always disconnect the
mains voltage (fire risk).
► If direct contact can not be avoided construction-related, affix the
warning notice "Hot surfaces".
regenerative operation
Danger to life by electric shock!
In regenerative operation, the cabinet system remains under voltage de-
spite the deactivated mains supply.
