Cable shields must not be used for current flow.
A cable shield may not simultaneously assume the function of an N or PE conductor.
Attach the cable shields always in a large surface.
Do not create lengthening of the cable shield by unshielded wire connections to the
grounding point. This reduces the shielding effect by up to 90%.
Connect the cable shield directly after the entry of the cable in the cabinet system
to an earthing bar.
Installation of the cables
The cabinet system must be connected to the protective earth at destination.
Use a protective earth conductor which corresponds at least the half cross-section
of the cables for the supply of the power terminals.
A marked earthing bar is available in the cabinet system for the connection of the
protective earth conductor.
Another marked earthing bar is available for the connection of the motor protective
earth.
The resistance of the protective earth should be 0.1 Ω or less.
In accordance with EN 61800-5-1, the minimum cross-section of the protective
earth conductor must comply with the local safety regulations concerning protec-
tive earth conductor with high leakage current.
Indirect contact
The device fulfills the requirements for protection against indirect con-
tact only with correctly connected protective earth conductor.
