ELEcTrIcAL INSTALLATION

6 Electrical Installation

6.1 General information

This chapter contains the information to be taken into account when selecting the ca-
bles, the protective measures and the cable routing of the cabinet system.
ATTENTION
The indicated conductor cross-sections in chapter „Technical Data" are recommenda-
tions for dimensioning and serve as reference values for multi-core copper power ca-
bles. They are valid for a maximum ambient temperature of 40°C and with open instal-
lation. In the case of deviating ambient conditions and local regulations, this must be
considered accordingly.

6.2 Installation of the cables

6.2.1 cable installation

The current laws and local regulations must always be observed when
planning and implementation the installation. KEB assumes no liability
for installations which do not comply with laws, local and / or other reg-
ulations. If the recommendations provided by KEB are not observed,
problems can occur when using the drive converter, which are not
covered by the warranty.
Lay noise-affected or interference-sensitive cables with the greatest possible dis-
tance from each other (minimum 200 mm).
Additional shielding measures must be provided if the distance is not maintained.
Cables must be placed as close as possible to grounded housing parts, mounting
plates or cabinet frames. This reduces noise emissions as well as noise injections.
Crossings of cables with signals of different classes must be avoided.
If another installation is not possible, cross the cables at a right angle, especially
when handling with sensitive and noise-affected signals.
Cores of signal and data cables which are not used must be grounded at both ends.
Avoid long cables and interference sources to prevent additional coupling points in
the cabinet system.
Ground unused cables to one side in the control cabinet.
Grounding connections with the largest possible cross-section to other control cab-
inets, system components and decentralized devices.
Avoid larger cable loops.
