Servicing the Drive Backplane

This board provides connectors for the drive signal cables.

Remove the Drive Backplane

1. Prepare the server for service.
a. Power off the server and disconnect the power cords from the power
supplies.

b. Attach an antistatic wrist strap to your wrist, and then to a metal area on the
chassis.

c. Extend the server into the service position.

d. Remove the fan cover.

e. If necessary, remove the fan modules from the server.

2. Pull each drive out far enough to disengage it from the drive backplane.
