Controller Configuration

Now that you have had the chance to perform some basic motion com-
mands in LOCAL mode more details on the controller's operation are in
order. The first aspect is the controller configuration.
Though some parameters can also be changed with remote commands, the
primary environment for configuring the MM4006 controller is the SETUP
section of the LOCAL mode.
The SETUP mode can only be initiated from the top level MOTOR
menu:

There are two types of setup functions: Axis Setup and General Setup. The
following sections will describe both in detail.
2.2.1

General Setup

General Setup is entered by pressing the
level setup menu. The display will change to the one illustrated in Fig. 2.5.
The top display line (number 1) indicates the setup mode (or level). Line
number 3 displays one parameter at a time and its current value. Line num-
ber 5 displays an operator prompt.
The function key definition line (number 6) displays a menu that is com-
mon for most setup screens at this level. The first two functions,

, perform scrolling through a list of parameters.
