6. Reinstall the bushings on the carriage
shaft.
7. Attach the timing belt to the timing belt clip
as shown in Figure 4-20.

8. Reattach the carrier and shaft assembly to the
printer.Position the bushings as shown in
Figure 4-21.

Ensure the ribbon cable is not twisted
after the carrier has been reinstalled in
note
it's normal operating position.
9. Wrap the timing belt around the encoder gear,
and then around the carriage motor gear.
10. When the timing belt is seated correctly, slide the carrier
back and forth along the shaft. It should move
freely with no binding.
