Subsystem Cleaning
The printer engine and scanner assembly
require periodic cleaning. When you are
servicing the WorkCentre 450c/450cp,
perform the following procedures.

Printer Parts

Clean the following printer engine parts:
Description Procedure
Cover Clean using a lint free tissue
(USCO/ACO part number
35P2163, or XL part number
600S4372) and water.
Paper feed Clean using a lint free tissue
roller (USCO/ACO part number
35P2163, or XL part number
600S4372) and water.
Paper feed Clean using a lint free tissue
pinch rollers (USCO/ACO part number
and paper feed 35P2163, or XL part number
guide 600S4372) and water.
Maintenance Clean using a lint free tissue
station (USCO/ACO part number
35P2163, or XL part number
600S4372) and water.
Carriage drive Inspect the guide rod for
rail damage (abrasions, wear
marks, burrs). Clean the
guide rod using Xerox film
remover 43P45 and a lint
free cloth 35P2163.
Next, use a lint free cloth
35P2163 to apply a thin film
of grease 70H44 to the rail.
