Auto Close Batch
An auto close batch session is similar to the operator-initiated settlement with the
following exceptions: open tabs are automatically deleted, unadjusted transactions are
ignored, the settlement totals are neither confirmed nor requested and no password is
required. Both ECA and Credit Card batches will auto close.

Operator Action and Comments
If the terminal is set to auto close, no key needs to be
pressed for the close process to begin.
Displays when the auto close timer begins the
countdown to closing the batch.
The terminal will delete open tabs if they exist and
display the terminal communication status (DIALING...),
as the close process continues.
As the batch closes, two sets of numbers are displayed.
The set on the left is the number of transactions
successfully sent to the host and the number on the set
on the right is the total number of transactions in the
batch. When both numbers match, the entire batch has
been sent to the host computer.
If the batch was not closed, it will display a
communication error message as well as the BATCH
NOT CLOSED prompt. Please call your card processor
for further assistance.
After the batch has been settled, this prompt and the
next prompt will alternately display. Press the [1] key to
reprint the ECA batch close report. The ECA detail
report option is only available when there are TeleCheck
transactions in the batch. Press [CLEAR] to exit feature.
Press the [2] key to reprint an ECA detail report or press
the [3] key to reprint a card summary report. The ECA
detail report option is only available when there are
TeleCheck transactions in the batch. Press [CLEAR] to
exit feature.
