Configuring GVRP timers

Use the gvrp timer command to adjust the values of the join, leave, and leaveall timers.
Timer values are in centi-seconds and valid values are from 1 to 10000. You must maintain
the following relationship for the various timer values:
• Leave time must be greater than or equal to three times the join time.
• Leaveall time must be greater than the leave time.
Use the command in this section to configure GVRP timers. This procedure is optional.

Join timer: each GARP application entity
sends a "join" message twice, for reliability,
and uses a join timer to set the sending
interval.
The timer value is expressed in centi-
seconds. Valid values are in the range 1 to
10000.
The join timer default is 20.
The Leave timer starts upon receipt of a
"leave" message sent for deregistering
attribute information. If no join message is
received before this timer expires, the GARP
application entity removes the attribute
information, as requested.
