Workstation Setup – Pro Tools
Before mixing with the plug-in the following options should be enabled in the Pro Tools Setup / Preferences / Mixing
menu :
1. Plug-in Controls Default to Auto-Enabled – Otherwise the parameters will need to be manually enabled for automation
from each individual plug-in window either manually or using the Command-Option-Control-click (MAC) or Control-Alt-Start-click
(PC) short cut.
2. Latching Behaviour for Switch Controls in "Touch" – This ensure that console switch automation is recorded correctly when
the track automation mode is set to Touch.
3. Set the SSL -Ctrl Plug-in as a 'Favourite' by Command-click (Mac) or Control-click (PC) the Insert Selector and
then selecting the SSL plug-in from the Other category. It will then appear at the top of the Insert Selector pop-up
menu for fast access.
If the desk small screen timecode display is required:
1. In the Setup / Peripherals / Synchronization menu set MTC Generator port to ipMIDI channel 7
2. In the Setup / Peripherals / Machine Control menu enable MIDI Machine Control(Master) and set the
port to ipMIDI channel 7.
For the MMC Locate message to update the desk timecode readout the following options should be enabled in the Pro Tools
Setup / Preferences / Synchronization menu:
1. Machine Chases Memory Location.
2. Machine follows Edit Insertion/Scrub.
