Configuring many-to-one VLAN mapping in a network with
static IP address assignment
NOTE:
This feature is supported in Release 2406P03 and later versions.
In a network where IP addresses are statically assigned, configure many-to-one VLAN mapping with ARP
snooping.
The switch replaces the SVLAN tag of the downlink traffic with the associated CVLAN tag based on the
ARP snooping entry lookup.
Configuration restrictions and guidelines
When you use this method to configure many-to-one VLAN mapping, follow these restrictions and
guidelines:
Before you configure many-to-one VLAN mapping, create the original VLANs and the translated
VLAN.
You cannot assign the same IP address to the hosts in different CVLANs.
When an IP address is no longer associated with the MAC address in a VLAN as in the ARP
snooping table, wait for this entry to be aged out. You can also use the reset arp snooping ip
ip-address command to clear this entry.
Before you modify many-to-one VLAN mapping, use the reset arp snooping vlan vlan-id command
to clear the ARP snooping entries in each CVLAN.
Command
Configure the port as a trunk port:
port link-type trunk
Configure the port as a hybrid
port:
port link-type hybrid
port trunk permit vlan vlan-id-list
port hybrid vlan vlan-id-list tagged
dhcp snooping trust
arp detection trust
vlan mapping nni
210
Remarks
By default, the link type of a
port is access.
By default, a trunk port is
assigned only to VLAN 1, and
a hybrid port is an untagged
member of VLAN 1.
By default, all ports that support
DHCP snooping are untrusted
ports when DHCP snooping is
enabled.
By default, all ports are ARP
untrusted ports.
By default, VLAN mapping is
not configured on an interface.
