Contact outputs

LINE DISTANCE PROTECTION SYSTEM – INSTRUCTION MANUAL
Function
Range: Enabled, Disabled
Default: Disabled
This setting enables and disables the chatter detection feature.
Chatter Time
Range: 1 to 100 seconds in steps of 1
Default: 10 seconds
This setting specifies the length of time that the relay contacts are monitored for contact
input state changes.
Chatter State Changes
Range: 10 to 100 in steps of 1
Default: 30
This setting specifies the number of state changes that must occur in the time window
defined by the
Chatter Time
Since chatter detection is a hardware diagnostic, a trouble indication is logged regardless
of the
setting being enabled or disabled for a particular input.
Events
Upon startup of the relay, the main processor determines from an assessment of the
modules installed in the chassis which contact outputs are available and presents the
settings for only these outputs.
Select the Settings > Automation > Automation Inputs/Outputs > Contact Outputs
menu to access the contact output configuration settings.

The settings for contact output 1 are used as an example. These settings are available for
all contact outputs.
ID
Range: up to 12 alphanumeric characters
Default: Cont Op 1
This setting specifies an alphanumeric identifier for the contact output.
Operate
Range: any automation logic operand or shared operand
Default: OFF
This setting selects an operand (virtual output, element state, contact input, or virtual
input) that operates the contact output when asserted.
Seal-In
Range: any automation logic operand or shared operand
Default: OFF
This setting selects an operand (virtual output, element state, contact input, or virtual
input) that seals-in the contact output when asserted.
