4.2 Turning with path dimension input
Function
CIRCLE mode provides you with a selection of three alternative input
options for machining radii:
Radius machining with angle specification
Radius machining with final dimension specification
Radius machining with IK and final dimension specification
The tool moves from the start to the end point along a circular path.
Set the direction in parameter Direction of rotation using soft key
"Alternat.".
Means counterclockwise circular direction
Means clockwise circular direction
Sequence of operations
Select CIRCLE mode.
a) Radius machining with angle specification
For radius machining with angle specification option, the start
position can be defined either by the
• absolute angular position D or
• the tangential run-in angle α α α α
and the end position either by means of the
• arc length in degree E or
• tangential run-out angle ß.
Mixed input is possible, e.g. tangential run-in angle α α α α and length of
arc E.
Both input types refer to the following angular system.
180°
225°
135°
(-135°)
270°
(-90°)
315°
45°
(-45°)
